Science Learning Activation

The Learning Activation Lab is a national research and design effort to learn and demonstrate how to activate children in ways that ignite persistent engagement in science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics learning and innovation. This particular assessment was designed to be used with 10-14 year olds, and are used to assess an individual across each of the four dimensions of science learning activation. These scales can be used concurrently to measure the multi-dimensional construct of science learning activation or separately to measure individual dimensions.

The Social Media Engagement Questionnaire (Puspitasari et al., 2025) was developed to assess social media engagement, which involves cognitive and emotional existence that can be identified through the time devoted in the social media cites (Wang et al., 2017). Items were adapted from existing research. The questionnaire had three facets: support-seeking intentions (Wang & Liu, 2019; Zhang et al., 2018), news information engagement (Ku et al., 2019), and commercial information engagement (Lee et al., 2018). The language was originally from English then it was modified and translated into Indonesian. Content validity by native speakers was conducted, and a pilot test was carried out with college students in Indonesia. This measure was administered online to Indonesian individuals. Confirmatory factor analysis yielded a 3-factor structure. Results concerning reliability were reported.
