Comments:
Criterion-related Validity: Correlations between the dimensions of the High School Student Interest Scale and Self-direction scale (SDS)–China Form (SDS–China; Long et al., 1996) were calculated. Six pairs of dimensions—Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional—showed moderate correlations.
Internal Consistency: The scale’s overall Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was 0.936, while the range for the 10 dimensions was 0.794–0.898. Split-half Reliability: The split-half reliability correlation coefficient of the 10 dimensions ranged from 0.791 to 0.914, while that of the total scale was 0.961.
