Questions are short and simple and easy to administer to children of all ages. At the same time, both individually and as a group of questions, they paint a good picture of a student's attitudes toward being involved in science both in the short term (in school) and long-term (as a career). These questions would vary more as a function of the quality of the current science class than the student's individual interest in science; that is to say that a stimulating science class could make a student who is not generally driven to science report more enthusiasm, and vice versa. This survey is an effective way to look at the attitudes of students towards science, and to look at the effect of a class on the students.
